What is Reiki?

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.

During your energy work the practitioner will place hands on various different areas of the body, and intuitively guide life force energies.

Chakra Balancing

Chakras are our energy centers. The word comes from the Sanskrit cakra meaning “wheel” or “circle” also referring to the “wheel of life”. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura. Their main function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring a higher development to our self-consciousness. They are associated with our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional interactions.

Pendulum Chakra clearing

and balancing

The hour begins with the an intention regarding the needs of your healing, and setting goals for the outcome of your session. You will choose stones and crystals to place on each chakra in order to provide their balancing frequency to each area. This session is wonderful for releasing what no longer serves you and can be very empowering.

Reiki with Children

A practitioner can simply be in the same room with a child, offering the energy gently, without touching or even being near the child.  All that may be needed is just to spend time with the child, playing or coloring; letting the child guide the session.  As the child becomes more comfortable and as the energy begins to work, changes can be made how the child receives Reiki.  Changes may come gradually, as is the case with Reiki and many other natural healing techniques.  Parents are encouraged to also learn Reiki so their child can receive daily treatments if needed.  I have over 25 years of working with different age children ,with 18 of those teaching in my own school.

Space clearing / energizing

A space can hold on to energy from previous people or energies for years. Utilizing powerful drumming and smudge techniques throughout the space, stagnant, negative, or un-serving energy can be released. Once the space has been cleared of what was old, it can then be filled with the healing and positive energy of Reiki.

Body Scanning

Body scanning is an intuitive method of detecting areas of the body in need of healing. Body scanning can be used at the beginning, during, and at the end of a Reiki healing session.  When it is done prior to a Reiki healing session, scans provide healers with advance information on where to concentrate their efforts.  Used during a healing session, scans help healers know when to pause to channel Reiki and when to move on. At the end of a session, a re-scan of the body insures that the flow of energy through the body has been enhanced and is now balanced.
